I Think I Need A Little Change

About the Upcoming Steven Universe Album
As I'm sure any Steven Universe fan knows, an official album is due to be released on June 2nd. Here's a list of what I'm looking forward to, and why.

  • Giant Woman - It's a sweet song about giant women. What more could one ask for?
  • Strong In The Real Way - I love this song. It's a great representation of Pearl's insecurities and Steven's aspirations, as well as exploring the meaning of strength.
  • Big Fat Zucchini - This song is from the episode Steven and the Stevens, and it is ridiculous. Here's the lyrics : 1, 2 , 3, 4!
Steven's a big fat meanie!A big fat meanie zucchini!
Let's chop it up, chop-chop it up,

    And serve it with linguine!
Al denteee! Al denteee! Al denteee! Al denteeeee!
  • Comet - I love this song. I just love it.
  • Stronger Than You - This song is such a good representation of what Garnet is all about. Love, and protecting those whom she loves. The togetherness of it is astounding.
  • Full Disclosure - Nearly the exact opposite of Stronger Than You, I can't stress how much I love this song. It shows Steven agonizing about losing relationships and how dangerous gem stuff actually is, and how high the stakes actually are. That, plus the guitar that cuts off when Steven finally ignores Connie's calls, makes this song a masterpiece in my opinion.
  • Do It For Her - This whole episode was a gem (pardon the pun), and this song was amazing. It's such an insight into Pearl and Connie's mindsets, and just a really good song.
  • Tower of Mistakes - This simple song does a masterful job of conveying Amethyst's emotions, and could almost be a reprise to Strong in The Real Way.
  • Haven't You Noticed (I'm a Star) - This song is really catchy and fun, and quite upbeat.
  • Something Entirely New - This song is so sweet and perfectly captures the uncertainty of being somewhere entirely new, with someone not quite familiar.
  • Peace and Love on the Planet Earth - This song is so sweet, and so Crystal Gem. It's a happy song to say the least.
  • Literally All Of The Mr. Greg Episode - That's right, all the songs in Mr. Greg are in the soundtrack. This is an amazing episode, especially It's Over Isn't It, and Both of You.
  • Here Comes A Thought - As someone who deals with anxiety, this song is amazing. It's relaxing tempo and Estelle's smooth singing advice, along with actual techniques to reduce anxiety make it a very important song to me.
  • Still Not Giving Up - This song is featured in the short "Steven's Song Time", and is really relatable and kind of heartbreaking when it ends with the chords that go along with "We are the crystal gems, we'll always save the day, and if you think we can't, we'll always find a way", which after the heavy stuff it deals with like Rose's death and the shattering of Pink Diamond, along with the people who Steven couldn't save, takes on a whole new meaning, and adds another layer to it when you consider the fact that Steven actually wrote We Are The Crystal Gems, meaning he intentionally used those chords there. Which gives it a whole new meaning over the dark depressing one that's over the light happy naive one. Steven may have learned new things and changed, and sees the world isn't black and white, but he still believes that the Crystal Gems will do their hardest to do what's right. And it also shows how the Crystal Gems rely on Steven. As a human, he has some morals that the gems simply don't have or still don't understand. The last few chords of the song completely change the song's meaning, and that's amazing.
  • Love Like You - This song is amazing. It's about everyone's views of everything, and could be just about, say Pearl, but instead it's a representation of the show as a whole. The love that everyone feels towards different people, and how the world can change but still leave you completely the same, and how you can change simply by being around someone else. It's all in this song, making it so relatable and foreign at the same time. Not to mention, Rebecca Sugar's voice is astounding.
And there you have it! Steven Universe's music is amazing, and I can't wait for this album to launch!
